The following featured reviews are just a small sample of the feedback we’ve received from our students, parents and guardians. We keep this page current with annual updates to replace older reviews with newer ones; hence this selection describes students’ experiences with us only from the past 2-3 years. They demonstrate the diversity of scenarios in which Barts College can be of help; some of these students were strong but wished to improve their grades, others were struggling with their studies for a variety of reasons, whilst others had failed exams or recently dropped out of college.
“My son wanted to improve his A level results as he had his heart set on a certain university that had a tough entry requirement.
Barts were amazing. His tutor was perfect in every way, we couldn’t have asked for a more amazing chap to not only turn 2 C’s into an A star and an A grade, but also the level of care and support was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Barts is like a family that care for you from start to finish. When the experience is all all over, you miss them. I cannot recommend them more highly. A star Barts ;-)”

“A truly positive experience. The quality of teaching and the support given to parents and students is excellent. The academic results were very good indeed, we couldn’t be happier, but notably the holistic approach was outstanding. “

“My son studied at Barts this year to retake his A-levels. I feel the one to one tuition has been great as it paces the study to suit the individual student. Monthly progress reports help to keep student on track and any queries are answered swiftly.
I would recommend Barts to any student either as a full time student or for any top-up tuition for an individual subject. It offers good value for money as the fees are comparable to other private schools in the area but the tuition at Barts is individual.”

“Barts have helped our family in so many ways. Mike was hugely supportive – he listened and supported in very different ways. I can’t thank them enough. From extra GCSE learning support to an extra A level – the teaching was excellent and their approach always well suited.”

“I’d highly recommend Barts. The staff are incredible, I learnt so much from them in one year and everything I’ve learned has stayed with me and helped me do well at University. I was dreading re-taking my A levels, but Barts made it enjoyable for me and turned it into a positive experience. I highly recommend Barts, especially for those unsure about retaking exams. It’ll be worth it in the end and there’s no better place to do it than Barts.”

“We were told about Barts at a time when we felt our son had no other options left for him to continue his education. Fortunately a friend told us about this amazing college and we haven’t looked back since. Our son struggles socially with high sensory issues so large busy environments don’t suit. He has had his ups and downs but the staff have always done their best to rectify any problems. He has just completed his first year and now wants to do another two. Thank you to all staff who work there.”

“Bartholomew’s allowed my son to achieve his full potential whereas other educational institutions had not. It provided a tailored education with a flexible and supportive environment. I can’t imagine what would have happened had we failed to find it.”

“I attended Bartholomews Tutorial College to increase my A level results. I had already passed my subjects, but knew I could do better. Barts proved to be the ideal place to provide me with the tools and the guidance to do so.
The one to one tuition allows you to get the most out of each lesson. While the socials and common room ensure that you are far from isolated. Your individual progress is monitored as the year goes on, helping to ensure and enable you to reach your full potential. Bartholomews proved to be everything I needed and more and I would sincerely urge others to consider going here.”

“My daughter attended Barts for tuition in one subject in year 13 whilst she was at sixth form college, as ill health was affecting her grades. Everyone at Barts was incredibly kind and supportive, and they were happy to work in a way that suited my daughter. Their sincere interest in their pupils was apparent from the very first meeting. I think it is a unique and exceptional place.”

“Being a student at Barts was brilliant. I felt like I was listened to by my teachers and supervisor, and made to feel comfortable and supported throughout my university applications and my studies. My teachers knew their subjects inside out and I felt reassured that I could get through the content before my exams.”

“Barts was a life saver for us – and the perfect solution for any child that for whatever reason finds mainstream schooling difficult. Over the two year period my daughter was there we found the level of teaching to be first class. The one on one teaching was invaluable and my daughter loved the independence as Barts has the feel of a mini university. The staff treat the students like grown ups and there is a strong feeling of trust. Barts are extremely sensitive to an individual child’s requirements. I can’t recommend this college more highly. Thanks Barts!”

“How Barts College Set Me Up For Future Success…
I came to Barts because I failed my A-levels at another college and was consequently unable to get to uni on the course I wanted (Biomedicine). After only a year at Barts I was able to turn my A-levels around (pretty astonishing considering it took two years to fail the first time I did them!). As a result of going to Barts, I was able get to Uni. In fact, I actually had a choice of where I wanted to go.
What was my choice? Biomedicine at the University of East Anglia.
Now, I credit this to the amazing tuition I was lucky enough to receive at Barts. My tutors were incredible and I consider myself very lucky to have met them.
Bottom line: If you’re looking to get to Uni I thoroughly recommend Bartholomew’s Tutorial College.”
