Student Recreation
Students at Bartholomews enjoy their time at the College, and gain more from the experience than just excellent examination results.
Our student common room is a popular and convenient place for students to meet socially, to take a packed lunch or to pass the time between tutorials.
As a student you can be expected to be invited to a welcome evening, which is a meal out at a local restaurant paid for by Barts! We go ice skating at Christmas followed by a meal, and have a summer social which in the past has been a picnic on the seafront or another meal out. In between these socials, we run smaller socials such as bowling, laser quest and Easter egg hunts.
There are two reasonably priced health & fitness clubs nearby and arrangements can also be made for students to join one of the many diverse local sports clubs.
Although there is no compulsion to become involved in any extra-curricular activities, students are encouraged to mix and to attend the functions open to them.
What Our Students Say…
I attended Bartholomews College to increase my A level results. I had already passed my subjects, but knew I could do better. Barts proved to be the ideal place to provide me with the tools and the guidance to do so.
The one to one tuition, allows you to get the most out of each lesson. While the socials and common room ensure that you are far from isolated. Your individual progress is monitored as the year goes on, helping to ensure and enable you to reach your full potential. Bartholamews proved to be everything I needed and more and I would sincerely urge others to consider going here.

I’d highly recommend Barts College. The staff are incredible, I learnt so much from them in one year and everything I’ve learned has stayed with me and helped me do well at University. I was dreading re-taking my A levels, but Barts made it enjoyable for me and turned it into a positive experience. I highly recommend Barts, especially for those unsure about retaking exams. It’ll be worth it in the end and there’s no better place to do it than Barts.
